Free Public Talk: Technologies of Ecstasy & the Healing Potential of Non-Ordinary States

Friday, April 12, 7-9pm

Belmont Lions Club

1 Common Street, Belmont MA

Join us for a free public talk on the eve of Global Breathwork Day. Discussion will include an overview of the history of mankind's innate ability to access non-ordinary states of consciousness for healing & self-exploration, as well as recent research demonstrating the potential benefits of such states for individuals, groups, our entire society, and the planet. We will chart a course through humanity's relationship with ecstatic and mystical traditions from ancient shamanic cultures, through it's sometimes controversial relationship with modern society, religion, and psychotherapy, and conclude with the groundbreaking work of Stanislav Grof, MD and the development of Holotropic Breathwork.

Refreshments will be served.

This event is being offered in connection with a 1-day Holotropic Breathwork workshop on Saturday April 13th at the same location. It is highly recommended that individuals registering for the workshop attend this talk.

Global Breathwork Day[masked]-Day Holotropic Breathwork

Saturday, April 13, 9am-9pm

Belmont Lions Club

1 Common Street, Belmont MA

Facilitated by Allen Howell M.Ed., Melvyn Hill, with Laurane McGlynn Ph.D.

Join us for a celebration of Global Breathwork Day by participating in a day-long Holotropic Breathwork workshop. This event will be held at the Belmont Lions Club located in Belmont Massachusetts, just a short ride from Harvard Square in Cambridge MA, easily accessible by public transportation and with nearby parking.

Holotropic Breathwork™ is a powerful and deeply personal practice that allows individuals to engage in a process of self-exploration and healing that integrates the latest insights from modern consciousness research with anthropology, various depth psychologies, transpersonal psychology, eastern spiritual practices, and mystical traditions from around the world. It combines breathing practices and evocative music in a safe set and setting, allowing individuals to access non-ordinary states of consciousness and activating the natural inner healing process of the individual's psyche. The process is simple yet profoundly transformative. With the inner healing intelligence guiding the process, the quality and content brought forth is unique to each person and for that particular time and place. It can bring about transformation at all levels of self.

Cost: $135 if registered prior to April 1st, $150 thereafter.
