Cryptography: Cryptopals Challenges

For this evening, we'll be looking at the Cryptopal Challenges. There are many different challenges for different levels, so you'll find something to fit your experience and abilities. The challenges cover a wide variety of topics in cryptography, and present practical attacks against commonly used systems. They're also good fun!

We have a slack channel for group members! Please join us by getting your invite at :)

This is a hands-on, collaborative study group. We will be learning and solving problems together and writing code.

At the end of the evening, solutions can be posted as pull requests against this github repository.

This is a rough guide to the evening:

18:30 - Official start. Introductions, announcements and description of the problem
19:00 - First pairing session
19:40 - Break and discussion
20:10 - Second pairing session
20:50 - Discussion: what did you find interesting, surprising, difficult, etc.
21:00 - Close. Optional further networking/chat, etc

The venue is locked in the evenings, please ring[masked] when you get there and someone will let you in.

We're looking for sponsors to help us with our weekly pizza costs. If your company (or a company you know) wants to sponsor us for a mention every evening, please get in touch with one of the organisers. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Until we get another sponsor, please bring some food instead :)

None required.

Please bring a laptop with your favourite programming environment.
