WATERTOWN PANERA. $20 to attend. Please be on time and sign up only if you're positive you can be present.
In this workshop we'll read your work and give you constructive suggestions to strengthen it. From larger structural and character considerations to minor formatting and story bumps, we'll help you make your script tighter, evocative, and more compelling.
Please bring at least four copies of ONE of the following:
1. Ten pages of an original feature screenplay (or a ten or less-page short film) that you wrote yourself.
2. A treatment that you wrote yourself (one to two-page synopsis of the plot) for a proposed original screenplay. Please keep treatments to two pages maximum.
If you haven't written a script or treatment, then come with your questions and a willingness to provide constructive feedback for others.
Regardless of what you bring, be sure to PRINT OUT COPIES so that we can read it together. If you don't print them out, we'll have no way to workshop your work! At least four would be appreciated.
If you haven't written a screenplay or treatment but are curious about the process, then we definitely have a place for you. For beginners, we highly recommend grabbing a copy of The Complete Screenwriter's Manual ( http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Screenwriters-Manual-Comprehensive-Reference/dp/0321397932 ) and screenwriting software (free: CeltX.com, more features: FadeInPro.com)
For more personalized script attention, I offer one-on-one screenplay coverage services. Details and testimonials: http://www.screenplay.guru (http://www.jaredmgordon.net/screenwriting). 10% off for Cambridge Screenwriting members.
