What we're about
• Our Purpose is to continue to build what is already an enthusiastic and talented group of String players who are Passionate about wanting to Play, and Perform with Sessions which are involving and evolving for all those who join us.
• We have developed out of the Cambridge Strings Play and Perform group to form a Piano Trio, String Quartet and for the new Season "The Cambridge Performers Ensemble" an advanced group capable of playing most of the string repertoire to high standards.
• To enable an eclectic repertoire which so far has covered Baroque, Classical and Romantic Music in various groups. However we have added World Music and Film music ( a recent Concert included Piazzolla - Oblivion and Newly Composed Pieces by 2 Composers within our group).
• To continue to succeed in Our aims to provide Musicians with a different kind of Meetup Session designed give a more focused Playing experience and with the opportunity to Perform at Regular Concerts
To develop a social programme which helps our musical endeavours.
With this in mind we have 2 excellent pianists who support the Trios and quartets and accompany soloist. Also they regularly play solo's at our Concerts. From time to time we invite soloists but in the main source them from within the group.
