The first OpenPlant Biomaker meetup will be a great opportunity to meet this year's challenge participants. We are very excited to be supporting 27 teams working on a huge range of open-science projects.
The event will also be an introduction to the Biomaker starter kit focusing on programming the arduino micro controller using the XOD visual programming interface. Just bring your laptops and we'll provide the hardware and instruction (and snacks and drinks)!
More information to come. All are welcome.
Biomaker provides up to £3000 for interdisciplinary projects that (i) build low-cost sensors and instruments for biology or (ii) develop a biological resource or outreach project. The challenge is a great opportunity to learn new skills, collaborate with an interdisciplinary community and, in a short amount of time, develop tools and resources that are useful for real-world applications. Tools that are developed during the Biomaker Challenge must be openly documented and made freely available.
