What we're about

This is a group for women of all ages who want to connect with each other, to learn, to grow and to talk about issues that are important to them. Dealing with life's transitions such as relationship issues, health, work problems, motherhood or menopause, birth and death, stress and overwhelm and everything in between. We hold a monthly Women's Circle on the second Wednesday of each month and also run workshops and retreats throughout the year. Please come and join us and be in the company of like-minded women where you can dare to be authentic and accepted for who you are.

Cambridge Women's Circle

The Friends Meeting House

£5.00

An inspiring and uplifting monthly group for Women to connect together, to learn and to grow and talk about issues that are important to them as women. We will sit in Circle to share about our lives and where we find ourselves. Sometimes we will have themes for our Circle, or perhaps a guest speaker and at others we will have a free flow. We will be guided by each other and the group will decide the agenda together. Louise and Katrina will be holding the space for the circle and we imagine that women will come forward and offer their own gifts for future meetings. A circle of Women is a powerful way of being together, with no men present, so we can truly be ourselves with our sisters. This can be challenging for some of us who have learnt not to trust other women, and safe for others who are comfortable being with women free from the gaze of men. Everything and everyone is welcome including those who identify as women and transgender women. Each meeting will have a structure – an opening, a middle and an end. We will use ritual, meditation, different exercises, movement and dance to find our way into our selves. An important part of each meeting will be the sharing circle where each woman will be able to share as much or as little as she wants as the other women listen with their full presence and without interruption or judgement. Women have always come together in some way. Years ago, and still today in some indigenous cultures, women retired to a Moon Lodge or Red Tent during their period and were revered and honoured by men and the other women for their wisdom during this time. The women would ‘hang out’ together and sleep and dream together. More recently we have had the Women’s Institute coming together and baking cakes, sharing information and, of course, the inspiration for ‘Calendar Girls’.
