What we're about

Calling all outdoor photographers - those interested in wildlife, nature, landscapes, etc. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome. I started this group to meet up with other outdoor photographers, to explore the natural world in our own neck of the woods, the other 49 States and abroad. Events will include 1-day to 2-week photography workshops/tours, where you'll have the opportunity to visit some spectacular photography locations, improve your skills, learn something new, and hang out with like-minded people.

Please note, this group is for people with a serious interest in nature photography, expanding their portfolios and improving their skills. Meetups, workshops and tours will focus on natural subjects - landscapes, wildlife, etc. This is not a group for portrait or street photographers. Members should preferably own a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, with the ability to control aperture and shutterspeed.

All new members are welcome to post their photos - it may be a good way to introduce yourself, your photography style and interests. Photo's can be uploaded on the "photos" page (just click on the menu above).

Fisheating Creek Photography Meetup

Fisheating Creek

Join me at Fisheating Creek, for a leisurely paddle downstream. We will meet (or carpool from Fort Lauderdale) at Fisheating Creek Outpost at 8:30am (the drive is about an hour and 40 minutes from Fort Lauderdale), to catch the shuttle to Burnt Bridge (about 8 miles from the outpost). From here we'll paddle downstream. The area has an abundance of birds, gators and incredible scenery.

The cost is $55 for a double kayak (I thought it would be easier to have 2 paddlers per boat), which includes the shuttle service and 4 hours with the kayak. If we happen to take longer, as we may if we're taking a lot of photos, it will be $75 per double kayak, for the whole day (we can pay the difference when we return). Either way it's worth it. If anyone would prefer a single kayak, let me know. If you are bringing your own kayak the cost will still be $55.

Note: The amount below is for one person in a double kayak. If you are 2 people you will pay $55. Hopefully we will be an even number of people and everyone will pay $27.50. Let me know before you pay.

I will require payment by Wednesday November 10th

Join us on a once of a life time photography adventure to Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands. First we'll explore Ecuador's Cloudforest, with our specialist birding guide. Then we'll head to the Galapagos Islands. Located 620 miles off the west coast of Ecuador, this World Heritage Site seems a world apart from anywhere else on earth. In this brutal and breathtaking, volcanic landscape, the islands, and their surrounding ocean, offer a unique opportunity to observe and study an incredible diversity of wildlife and plant life, in one of the Earth’s greatest natural laboratories.

The almost entire isolation of these islands, for millions of years, has led to a high level of endemism, with a staggering number of species being found nowhere else on earth. Millions of sea birds, land and marine iguanas, fur seals, playful sea lions, and the endangered Galapagos tortoise call these islands home. Being largely unaffected by humans, they have never learned to fear them. This lack of fear allows for incredible, up-close encounters with wildlife and has led to the Galapagos Islands being considered one the worlds foremost wildlife-viewing destinations....

Isolated in the freezing North Atlantic, Iceland was forged by centuries of volcanic upheaval and shifting of tectonic plates. It is characterized by it’s dramatic and otherworldly landscapes, and stunning natural beauty. From towering mountains, volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and alien looking lava fields, to massive glaciers, sprawling icefields, majestic fjords and powerful waterfalls.

Join me in Iceland, together with professional photographer/guide Páll Jökull Pétursson, for an amazing 7 night / 8 day adventure.

We'll explore Iceland's Southern Coast, photographing sea cliffs, black sand beaches, glaciers and magnificent canyons cutting into the highlands below the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. If we are lucky we will get to see Puffins and Arctic Terns. We'll enjoy wonderful locations for sunsets and sunrises including the Reynisdrangar sea-stacks and Dyrhólaey peninsula. And try local food.
