FUTURE CAMP - DIVERSITY
Saturday May 19TH, 2018
Future Camp is an unconference that brings together the keenest minds in the Pacific Northwest to discuss and debate where the future is taking us. This year we are focusing the future-forward discussions around DIVERSITY. The need to mix our communities, families, friendships, and workplaces with people of different ages, abilities, genders, opinions, and so much more. Conversations can also transcend this to focus on abstract areas as well, but conversations around diversity in those contexts are encouraged as well.
Attendees create the (un)conference the day of on subjects that include, but are not limited to: The Future of Work, Technology and Humanity, Energy, Personalized Medicine, Sex, Sexuality and intimacy, Transhumanism, Cyborgs, Big Data, Wearables, Internet of Things, Transport, Finance, Agriculture, Cities, Government, Education, Ethics, Virtual and Augmented Reality, The App Economy, Humanity, Love, Mindfulness, Military, Psychedelics, Work, Security, Privacy, Music, Media, Advertising, Finance, Manufacturing, Fashion, Transport and Automotive Industries, Creativity, and other areas of interest that affect the world today and in the future of how society will work. Let’s kick start the conversation!
Link to tickets will be made public soon. The day will start off with 3 keynotes. Following that, all attendees will brainstorm and suggest sessions that work in an open format and we will vote on which ones are scheduled into the day. Remember, this is your conference and we invite you to contribute via:
Presentations: 15 to 20 mins with visual aids then Q & A. Come with a prepared presentation or an idea supported by visual reference (videos online, images, articles etc.). A great opportunity to provide well-considered opinions.
Debates: Two people present arguments for and against specific subjects. We invite the audience to get involved in the debate as well.
Discussions: Smaller groups discuss specific areas in a round table format.
Show & Tell: Do you have some future idea or technology or an invention to show? If so, then showcase it.
If you have an idea beforehand, or want to showcase some technology, then send us your ideas by 12:00pm on Friday May 4th to [masked] along with your name, idea, and format that you’d like to use and we can include them for consideration by the attendees on the day. Come with an open mind, and leave with more inspiration and perspectives than before. See you there. This event is organized by Nikolas Badminton, Futurist.
