What we’re about
The Canadian Piano Society (CPS) is quite different from other piano groups in the Greater Toronto Area.
First of all, we're not a recital group. Our meetups are recognized for their informal ambience, which separates us from the rest. Recitals are formal events.
With the CPS, pianists come to the piano to perform for like-minded people and pianists like themselves, bringing their practice from their living rooms to a venue where mistakes are really not a big deal. Many CPS members have gotten rid of their stage fright because of this.
There are practically no time limits for performances, although, of course, everyone understands that there are others who want to perform too. No programme forms are printed; it's so informal that anyone can change their mind about which piece they want to play at the moment.
The meetups are really fun piano parties, and being a Society, socials are part of the fun.
We invite you to come to our monthly get-togethers and will warmly welcome you as happy members of the Canadian Piano Society.

See all- Spring's New Beginnings18 Wynford Dr, North York, ON
For April this year, our meetup will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 12:30-4:30 pm. The venue is the Don Heights Unitarian Congregation, at Suite 102, 18 Wynford Drive, North York, Ontario.
Spectators have free entrance (or may voluntarily contribute any amount).
An ever-so-well-maintained Steinway grand piano is available in a large room that can accommodate as many as 100 people. A kitchen and boardroom are also available for our use. As has always been our tradition, there will be food (potluck, please!).
As this is a four-hour event, pieces may be as long as 10 minutes for primary performances. If desired, performers may return for a "second helping" after all others have played (after the intermission and snacks)!
All performers should register on our website:
https://canadianpianosociety.com/2024-04-14/There is a fee of $30 for performers. Kindly send it by e-transfer to
antonality@gmail.com.Once you've done this, you will see your name mentioned on our official website, https://canadianpianosociety.com.
Spectators don't need to register. Just come on in, and we'll welcome you!
Hoping to see you there!
Anton.
