We were going to take another shot at Mount Cory near Banff.
This is considered an "easy" scramble in terms of technical difficulty but with 1400m of vertical, it should be a good workout and a long day. You should be comfortable with a 1400 meter scramble. http://bobspirko.ca/Banff/Cory/MtCory11.html
Gear required: Helmet, proper hiking boots, warm clothes, rain gear, food, 2+ liters of water. Bear spray is recommended
If you have a park pass, please bring it, even if you do not plan to drive.
Meetup time: 7:00 AM at Shouldice Arena.
Departure: 7:05 AM
Difficulty: Easy technically but considerable vertical gain
Estimated trip time: 8 - 10 hours car to car
Elevation gain: 1400 Meters
Distance: 9.2 km
Please also answer the RSVP questions. Your name may be moved to the "waiting" or "not going" list if the questions are not answered and I do not know you.
Please make sure that your current membership has been paid for 2013. If you have not paid your membership, you can pay online. This is the preferred method as it saves time in the morning. (You can also bring $20 cash to the meetup location but this wastes time when we could be on the road.) If you are new to the club you can pay a one time $5 guest membership.
Waivers are mandatory for every trip and will be signed at the meeting location. Be sure to arrive 10 minutes before departure to allow time.
It is the responsibility of the participant to check for any updates, changes or cancellations before the day of the trip.
Be sure to bring extra cash to pay the driver you get a ride with to the trail head.
