Join us as Shawn Bartnett explains everything you need to know about buying a boat and answers your questions.

Mr. Shawn Bartnett is a Certified Marine Surveyor, Certified by the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS).  He is currently the Regional Vice President for NAMS for the NY and NJ area.  He has been a surveyor for 36+ years.  Shawn is married to Judy and has two adult children and two grandchildren. 

He is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, at Kings Point, NY, with a BS in Nautical Science.  Mr. Bartnett sailed on merchant vessels for five years and then obtained a job with a marine surveying firm in New Orleans, LA during 1980.  In 1987, Mr. Bartnett returned to the Rochester, NY area and started his own Marine Surveying firm.  He surveys pleasure craft, both power and sail, commercial vessels including ships, tugs, tour boats, barges, etc., damaged cargo, heavy lift cargo, and provides expert testimony during trials.

His hobbies include boating, camping, snowmobiling, and hunting.
