Play reading: The Tempest (first half)

At this meet up we will be reading 'The Tempest'. Jane will be our host for the evening and will also be serving supper.

In order to attend this reading it is essential that you:

1. Contact Laura informing her of your email address. In the interest of privacy, the details of each hosts' address is only given out via direct contact with Laura. Please do this when you RSVP as not to cause a delay when character lists are sent out.

2.Select characters from the selection emailed to the group on the Monday or Tuesday of a reading week. Not only does this allow everyone enough time to prepare themselves but it also confirms that you are attending the reading. If you do not mind which characters you are, respond saying so rather than expressing no opinion.

3. Make sure your RSVP is correct and if it does need to be changed, is done as soon as possible. Ideally, RSVPs should not be change after 12pm on the Monday of a reading week. We understand that things change at a moment's notice but please advise us as soon as possible if you must change your RSVP status. Each reading is limited to 8 people, after which a waiting list is formed. Cancelling your RSVP late doesn't give those on the waiting list a lot of time to prepare themselves and the group organisers have to rework the entire character list, a task that is time consuming to do but affects all other attendees.

4. All members MUST bring their own copy of the play being read. Shakespeare's works are readily available online (we recommend *http://opensourceshakespeare.com/.) As some print editions have small print, it is advised that you choose or amend a text that allows you to read most comfortably. By submitting a 'yes' RSVP you declare that you agree to these terms and will abide to them.

* Please note that if you go to the print version and edit in Word (this is an option in my browser(IE), but you may need to copy and paste into Word), changing the line spacing to 'single' greatly reduces the number of pages for printing.

thanks - great. If anyone has an extra copy of the bard, that would be great - if not, no worries, I'll print the Tempest off at work, hopefully, when no one's looking.

Hi, sorry about this but I was wondering if we can add two late arrivals to the reading list? My cousin and her partner are staying with me and would like to join in - but if it's too hard, don't worry, they can listen or watch tv. I haven't got a part list yet by the way.

The more the merrier! Adding two extra part won't be difficult. I tried to send out the parts today but my computer refuses to start. I'll be at my parents' house in the morning to send out the lines from their computer.
