How do dogs celebrate the first of October? By hiking of course! Since it is Oct. 1, let's get together and enjoy this fabulous weather together while we have it!

This will be a nice starter hike for folks who are getting used to getting distance under their belts as well as experienced hikers who want to get a weekday hike in with their pup. We will hike part of the Northbank trail behind Maymont during the daylight hours. The trail then puts us out beside the entrance of Maymont and near the multiple swan lakes. We will head over and walk around the lakes and enjoy the sunset. And always, I will have Canine Adventure flash lights for us to use if we need them at the end of the hike!

The hike will be on leash and about 3 miles. Please wear appropriate trail shoes - no flip flops!

This is a "Starter Hike" - "Starter Hikes" are hikes that are 2-3 miles in length and designed for people and dogs wanting to begin hiking with us but not ready yet to tackle a regular 4-5 mile hike. By doing a number of shorter hikes, your dog can build up his/her mileage gradually, and eventually be ready for longer hikes. Because these are shorter hikes, the charge will be $5 per person. (This is also a good hike for older dogs or puppies who aren't up for the higher mileage.)

Weston and I look forward to seeing you Tuesday night! If you have any questions, please email me or post your question here.

We are thrilled that folks are enthusiastic about joining us on our hikes! Please understand that we can only accommodate a certain number of folks and pups on a given hike. Our group sizes are limited to ensure that we can effectively manage each group. You are welcome to RSVP with a guest (or two), but if the hike is filled up, please respect our limitations. There are more hikes on the way, you won't be left out!
