  • Marlow Theatre - Philharmonia Orchestra: Musical Heroes

Dear Members, here is the next programme for our group. Please find the details below, and attend if free and interested. Please buy your tickets individually (see inserted a link below), choosing whichever price range and seat you prefer. Or equally, feel free to group up, I read on the website that there is some discount if more people book together (from 4 people onward). (I'll be given a ticket, probably the cheapest option, the upper circle, which is still a good enough place, tried it several times before:) We could gather a bit earlier, at 7 pm on the spot, to say hello to and meet each other. SAT 13 APR 2019 Time 7.30pm Tickets £36.25 ‐ £13.25 Resident Orchestra at The Marlowe Philharmonia Orchestra: Musical Heroes One of the world's great orchestras on your doorstep. Herbert Blomstedt conductor PROGRAMME: Mozart Symphony No. 40 Beethoven Symphony No. 3, Eroica Maestro Herbert Blomstedt brings more than 60 years of conducting experience to the music of classical giants Mozart and Beethoven. Mozart’s most famous symphony gives rise to music brimming with drama and anticipation, full of twists and turns leading to a gripping finale. Beethoven’s groundbreaking Eroica Symphony is as heroic as its title suggests, bigger and longer than anything that had come before, with its deeply moving funeral march and electrifying finale ending in a blaze of glory. https://marlowetheatre.com/shows/philharmonia-orchestra-musical-heroes/

  • Colyer-Fergusson Cathedral Concert 2019

    Canterbury Cathedral

Dear Members, at last, here is our first event to attend for those who are interested and free to come. I wished to schedule something else before this one, but couldn't get to it in the end. A bit of an unusual circumstance, especially considering that we haven't yet had a chance to meet in person, is, that at this particular event I'll be a participant (being an external member of the orchestra), so it's not likely that I will be able to be around to 'host' properly. However, if anyone is able or would like to come a bit earlier, we could possibly see each other briefly on the spot, before the concert starts, let's say at 6.45 pm. Anyway, here are the details, as well as a link with the full description and ticket purchasing. Programme: Verdi - Stabat Mater Mendelssohn – Symphony No 4 in A, Italian Butterworth – A Shropshire Lad, Rhapsody for Orchestra Poulenc - Gloria Credits Rachel Nicholls soprano Susan Wanless conductor Zaneta Balsevic leader Ticketing (reserved or unreserved seating, depending on price) £8 ‐ £22 https://thegulbenkian.co.uk/event/colyer-fergusson-cathedral-concert-2019/ Ps. Suggestions, ideas of possible events for the upcoming months are most welcome, please feel free to contribute - I'll do my bit of reserach as well.
