Calling all serious writers! Sci-fi, action and adventure, romance, mystery, paranormal, young adult, middle grade, children’s, erotica and inspirational fiction, non-fiction…etc, etc. Published, not published, aspiring, beginner or a pro...let’s build a supportive and knowledgeable group to help and encourage each other.

Actively learning and working toward publication, or continuing to write for publication is our goal.

If you want to explore your inner self with hobby writing, we're sorry, but that’s not for this group. People writing for self discovery need different help and critique than those pursuing publication. Our group cannot provide both widely different types of support.

Our intended meetup general activities:

1. Talking to other people who write and who understand what it is like. People who don’t write don’t understand.
2. Discuss the writing process and how to write better in all genres.
3. Discussing the marketplace and the marketing expectations of authors in both traditional and indie publishing venues.
4. Small workshops and presentations by members and guest speakers on areas of personal expertise for those who might find that knowledge useful, now or in the future.
5. Finding critique partners and forming critique groups.
6. Going to writers conventions and workshops together.

**Check the pages tabs for conferences, workshops, and other author/writer events both in Florida and out of state that you might be interested in. Other members may be interested in going also. Let me know, and I'll do a "Lets go to the conference" post for members to join together and go.

I have been questioned on my membership fee. Why do I charge a fee? Here is the answer: I charge a membership fee of $1 a month--after a free 60 day trial membership--in order to supplement my out of pocket costs for the fees Meetup charges me for running the group, for paper copies for workshops and guest presentations. So far, membership dues haven't covered a fourth of what I spent this last year.

Please consider donating/joining as a member in order for us to have a writing group that is helpful for everyone no matter their level of expertise.

Happy writing!
