N.B.: EVENT DATE CHANGED TO THURSDAY 25th JULY, PLEASE UPDATE RSVP!

Welcome back PHPers, the July CT PHP meetup promises to be another great meetup. We are gathering at Swipe iX(Northern Suburbs) so be sure to RSVP!

Talk One - Maintaining Open Source

Maintaining open source is a bit like being a monk. You give up your time and effort for "the greater good", and often have to deal with rudeness and entitlement along the way. It doesn't have to be like that. I want to talk to you about the how and why of creating open source code. Together, we'll look at what a good open source library looks like, and how it can pay for itself.

About the speaker

Christopher Pitt - Developer on https://gitstore.app/

Talk Two - Everyday Design Patterns

General overview of useful code design patterns and how they are applicable to everyday programming problems. Thereafter deep dive into State Machine pattern in PHP.

About the speaker

Alexander Glöss is co-founder & CTO of timu.co.za. Passionate about most types of programming and innovative software. Indicative of that is the different sectors he has worked in, ranging from soil engineering, fleet tracking, mobile apps, race entry management, tracking and more.
