What we're about

Greetings !! The primary focus of this Meet-up group is to Meet New People, Play Cards, & Socialize with People who are interested in playing Card based games and other games like Dominos. We also may schedule Meet-ups for various social events around the Houston area.

***Please note: If you simply join meetup groups just for the sake of joining, but have no real intention of being an active participant, then this group is not for you.

We encourage members to host Meet-ups as well. We are in the North Harris County/South Montgomery County area, so Meet-ups we schedule will typically be in this area. Other members may host Meet-ups in other areas, and venues, at any time.

Our favorite card game is Hand & Foot Canasta! We love to teach others to play. We can also play and teach Spades, Hearts, Oh Hell, and Wizard. We encourage others to teach any Card games that they enjoy. We also like to play other non-Card games as well, such as Scrabble, and Dominoes.

Members are accepted carefully and only when the group is functioning well. During times of internal strife, no new members will be added. It takes a while for any group to incorporate new members. This group is formed to actually meet people who sincerely want to make new friends and form lasting friendships, with similar interests. This group is about fostering friendship, making connections, having fun, & growing in understanding.

We ask new members to add a photo of yourself for the safety of our members since we meet in private homes on occasions. This is non-negotiable. Without a profile picture of your face clearly shown, your membership will be declined. We value the quality of our members over quantity. If you cannot be an active part of this group, you can join us at a later time when your schedule allows you to be active. The Organizers have the right to be selective. As you are filling out the questionnaire, please include an introduction that will help us get to know who you are. Answers to questions should be more than a simple yes or no, we are trying to get to know if you will be a good fit so we need a little more information. General information about yourself, such as your interests, hobbies, what side of town you currently live is helpful during our review process of potential members. We receive many requests so it may take awhile to receive our reply.

Please RSVP regularly. You don't have to RSVP to every Event, but Your RSVP, Yes, No, or maybe, tells us that you are still out there. To keep your membership current and active, you should try to attend your first Meet-up within the first 4 weeks after joining. We like our members to attend at least one Meet-up every 4 to 6 weeks thereafter, this will help build friendships within the group. If we haven't seen you for a while, you may receive an e-mail from the organizer or co-organizers checking in to see if you are still with us. Other ways to stay in contact, are to contact the organizer, write on the message boards, and of course, the big one, attend a Meet-Up!

We also frown upon "No Shows" to Events, it's as simple as changing Your RSVP from "Yes" to "No" If you're unable to attend even if at the last minute.

We look forward to getting to know you!
