Multiple Experts, Multiple Short Seminars to Chose From

There are job search topics that can be covered completely in 50 minutes. This session will have 3 or 4 of these topics. You get to select two of them to attend.

These topics will be posted shortly. The networking that occurs on these Saturdays is some of the best for job seekers.

Ardell Fleeson will be teaching on How to Find a Job Without A Resume. At times job seekers allow their resume to work against them. This seminar will allow the job seekers to feel comfortable setting aside their resume and just looking for work. This is a high level networking class.

Nichole McDonald will be teaching on Questions You Might Be Reluctant to Ask During an Interview.

Patrick Troy will be talking about 3 short topics. 1) How to ask for and receive the job offer. 2) Overcoming the Your Over Qualified Objection and 3) How to talk Salary.

Please Note:

1. All attendees are required to dress as if they are going to a formal job interview. For men this means a suit.

2, Please bring multiple copies of your resume with you.

3. Many people show up as early as 8:00 to get one on one help with resumes and other job related issues.

4. BJSP starts promptly at 8:45 AM and ends promptly at 12:00 Noon.

BJSP is a Business Education Organization. There is a Christian Ministry component towards the end of each main seminar.

Very good event to discuss strategy, tactics and next steps during the interview. Nicole McDonald discussed through story and examples how my questions could be inserted during the interview. She convinced me and the attendees that the interview is a dialogue, not an interrogation. Patrick Troy's session, going through the "hot spot" portions of the interview, was refreshing. Practice and preparation is needed before the interview. The attendees brought up pressing questions. Robert worked them to fitting resolution. The network opportunities have been great comfort. We can help each other by helping ourselves.

I very much enjoyed the Beltway Job Search Partners class last Saturday. I attended two of the three breakout sessions both of which I found very informative and enjoyable. Ardell Fleeson’s presentation on finding a job without a resume gave me a lot of ideas on covert networking techniques. She is very approachable as are the other presenters and volunteers, and provided me with some excellent advice at the personal level. I’ve always enjoyed Patrick Troy’s presentations, and his presentation on how to ask for and get the job was very energetic. His emphasis on closing the interview and the technique of trial closures is very important, “if you don’t ask for the job, you’ll never get it”. The closing testimony was very inspiring, heart-warming, and very well received. I appreciate Robert Brandau’s efforts and his panel of experts in working with all of us job prospectors.
