Writing Resumes which Recruiters Want to Read

Recruiters get inundated with resumes. Typically a recruiter spends about 3 seconds per resume. Unless your resume is written so that it is easy for a recruiter to read, your resume could easily be overlooked.

There is a methodology which you can follow which will increase the likelihood of your resume getting read thoroughly by recruiters. The BJSP leaders know of situations where this methodology actually was responsible for a candidate getting a great job offer.

We will be teaching this resume writing methodology. If you bring your resume on a flashdrive, we should be able to it up on the computer screen and look at it in detail.

All BJSP seminars are presented free to job seekers.

Beltway Job Search Partners is a Business Education Organization with a Christian Component.

Please show up dressed as if you are going to a job interview. For men, this means suit and tie. Always bring multiple copies of your resume. You never know who you will meet.

This was an excellent workshop. Before attending this workshop, I had felt that my resume was not adequately conveying my experience, but I had not been able to find concrete, easily understandable feedback as to why. In this workshop, I finally learned how to improve my resume. Robert even gave personalized advice. I also learned some tips that will help me stop stressing about it so much. Finally, it was great to see the resumes of others who are in the field that I want to get into. It gave me a better idea as to what kind of experience they have and how they structure their resumes.

I have attended several BJSP meetings and each one has provided helpful information that I am utilizing in my job search. Based on the Resume Writing discussion, I have made several changes to my resume that I feel will improve the resume's effectiveness. Each of the BJSP meetings that I have attended were conducted so that there was easy dialog between the presenters and the other group members.

Getting information from a person that reads thousands of resumes is very helpful. Some of the tips I had heard before, but I learned several additional pointers that are very helpful.
