This is an early riser event. You know what they say about the early birds...Carlisle MINIacs get ready for this one...it will be great!
The lift off has been pushed back to 7:00 AM so we get a few extra ZZZss before we experience this traditional ballooning Hound & Hare Race. A single balloon takes off before the rest as the remaining give chase and try to catch up. When the first balloon reaches its final destination, they will drop a marker to the ground and the chasing balloons test their stills to land as close to the mark as they can.
The fun doesn’t stop there – As the first set of racers take off from the festival grounds, the second set of racers will giving chase toward the festival grounds. Spectators will get to see both launch and landing of these highly skilled balloon teams.
Balloon Chasing – If you are more of the adventurous type and want to experience the gentle, winding back-country roads and lanes of Lancaster County, you can even chase after the balloon teams.
