  • MINI FOR A CAUSE

    MINI of Montgomery County

CARLISLE MINI: The lunch / ice cream stop for this charity event is about 70 miles / 1.25 hours from Carlisle if you can't make the MINI dealership Meet and Greet. Get a few MINIs together and find some fun roads to make your way to Frederick for some lunch and ice cream with C3M and DC Metro MINIs for a good cause! MINIs FOR A CAUSE – About: MINIs FOR A CAUSE is an event that Norm and Jess Nelsen (MINI owners in CA who lost their home and several MINIs in the Paradise, CA fires last summer) are organizing with Chico Mini Cooper, Shasta MINIS, Capitol City MINIS & Mini & MINIS Int., co-sponsored with Butte Creek Country Club and Niello MINI. It is a Show & Shine MINIcar show Fundraiser for the youth of Northern California who lived through the nightmares of the Camp & Carr fires of last year. Most of these kids now have no place to go to relive their memories of childhood. https://www.facebook.com/events/1122486167906973/ Let’s show some “east coast love” to support this cause for these children! As is often the case, there’s an initial outpouring of support, but as time passes, memories fade and more current events eclipse the devastation of the past. It’s too far for a day drive, but we can help locally. Here’s how - join for all or part! Saturday March 9th, after the Meet and Greet at MINI of Montgomery County, we will take a ~ 1-1.5 hour drive to Beef – N – Buns in Paradise (get it?) in Frederick for some lunch and some fabulous ice cream. After lunch we will have a “local” 50/50 drawing with the proceeds designated to MINI FOR A CAUSE. 9:30AM: Meet and Greet at MINI of Montgomery County 621 N Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20879 Depart (approximate):1130am Arrive (approximate): 1pm Beef N Buns in Paradise 1201 E Patrick St, Frederick, MD 21701 (301)[masked] MINI FOR A CAUSE has raffle items (for tickets) and silent auction items. Any items bid on and won by one of our “local” MINIs will be shipped by the organizers for free. We can also buy 50/50 raffle tickets for the California based event. The list of raffle and silent auction items is available – some are unique, collectible items. If you are unable to attend the Meet and Greet at MINI of Montgomery County and/or lunch at Beef N Buns N Paradise but are interested in the donating to the charity or bidding on items, please send me a PM and I can get the list to you. Many of the items are listed on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1122486167906973/

Bring your ideas to this Planning Session...together we can invigorate each other and make 2019 one of Carlisle MINI's best! http://www.hinklesrestaurant.com/ Some of your Fellow Carlisle MINIacs have taken some of this Winter's down time to schedule some upcoming events. • The 110th Observance of Ground Hog Day

    Alexander King Nature Preserve

Once again, a slumbering groundhog will awaken and make his prognostication. In honor of this momentous occasion, the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge of Quarryville invites the community to its 110th observance of Groundhog Day on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Chateau in the Valley of White Rock, south of Quarryville. Known worldwide (or at least in Lancaster County) for the annual weather forecast that predicts an early spring or six more weeks of winter, the lodge will give this year's forecast from atop the Pinnacle of Prognostication (a manure spreader). Festivities will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the ceremonial parade from the covered bridge. Coffee and doughnuts will be served! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/ddBiosUO6O8a6qqZ4u1cuOz6mKZxTZyRviqw8MvFMavnRnpZfKgEKBIts9OgFRHWDXm8tHUa7l-LnzrzkoneqveqxV28dAi4dBV-JovYeijDNpA39pHjssl8rEU-pFn5uj-RQ1bgGeokbLYT9g Making the pronouncement will be Hibernating Governor Richard M. Rankin, following consultation with Octorara Orphie, the club's groundhog mascot, and hearing groundhog sighting reports from a half-dozen observation squads. Remarks will follow accompanied by the Groundhog Marching Band. Every year, a new class of “babies” is inducted into the lodge. Those who will embark on “an odyssey into the prophetic world of Arctomanciferial Predictification. The “babies” will undergo baptism by fire and water, meaning that one lucky inductee will be dunked into the icy waters of the Octorara Creek, and then a cannon will be fired over the baby's hindmost parts. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/yrM0bFT3eGprESUp6DLO2knWKTUVPqXnA9jl951TP2t92OfosJj_nDExTsaISSnyqwTYEzdhl01bAbINbX4TdczahZtUN9dIaiY_OVM4DyP9R84quMXv7FLxbXwJyG28jW51_jnSK5bcb2od4A What will Octorara Orphie predict this year??
