The Piedmont’s Kings Mountain State Park has miles of forested trails, two fishing lakes, and sits adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, a Revolutionary War battle site. Local crowds flock to the park during regularly scheduled special events, especially every November when living history demonstrations are held at the park’s replica 1800s Piedmont farm. Overnight accommodations, including equestrian facilities, are available at the Kings Mountain campground. HOURS AND ADMISSION • Admission : $2/adult; $1.25 SC Seniors; age 15 & younger free • Days and Hours of Operation : 8am-6pm, daily (extended to 7am-9pm during Daylight Saving Time) • Office Hours : 11am-noon & 4-5pm M-F • Tours : Self-guided tours of the Living History Farm are available from 9am-5pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day and on weekends in April, May, Sept. and Oct. The farm is a replica of a 19th century South Carolina yeoman farm which includes a barn, cotton gin and blacksmith/carpenter shop. School group tours available by appointment. Kings Mountain is a DiscoverCarolina Site, which provides curriculum-based social studies programs for South Carolina school children. PETS • Pets : Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.
