Race for R.A.R.E. 5k&10mile trail races

The inaugural Race for R.A.R.E. will take place at George Poston Park in Gastonia, NC on February 23rd, 2013 . Runners have the choice between a
5k or 10m through one of the most unique trail system in the Charlotte, NC area.

If you haven't been to Poston Park this would be a great way to get to know the park and support a great cause. It doesn't have any massive climbs but there is rarely a flat spot, lots of rolling terrain. Definitely a nice challenging trail system without having to travel too far out of Charlotte.

If you want to volunteer to help this race get off to a great start please let me know.

I'm glad everyone had a good time. We were worried mostly about course markings after having a few trail race experiences that were miserable due to bad trail marking. We are thrilled that nobody got lost and there were only a few moments of confusion from what was reported by trail marshals. We need to give a big thanks to Bike PASA for building the trails and providing so many people to help guide everyone through the forests at Poston Park! We're already looking for a date for next year. Oh, and I was the person at the entry and exit of the trail. It was fun seeing how everyone looked coming out of the trail. Lots of muddy bottoms!
