Hello Everyone Heres our forecast for friday Dec 2 @ Crater Lake National Park. A 20% chance of snow after 10 am. Increasing clouds, with a high near 28. East wind 8-13 mph becoming westsouthwest 15-20mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. So not a perfect forecast but not unreasonable either. Windchill will be in the teens so please bring warm clothing for a full day out in the backcountry. Bring several pairs of warm gloves and several hats and 1 change of socks. Packing list- skis or snowshoes, good winter boots, gaiters, crampons, ice axe, helmet, lunch, 3 liters of water, no camelbacks please. headlight, 10 essentials. camera, sunscreen, winter clothing- (layers of wool or synthetics) trekking poles with snow baskets. We probably wont need the crampons or ice axe but we might not summit without them. I have 4 ice axes, 3 pairs of crampons, 2 pairs of snowshoes to lend if needed. Make sure you are a CM member. I will bring membership forms also.
