  • Hi... This hike to Dripping Cave is about 5 miles round trip. There is a little elevation change, a couple of hundred feet, at the beginning (and end) of the hike, but nothing too steep. Part of the route follows Aliso Creek under the oak trees, we'll pass smaller caves cut into the sandstone thousands of years ago by the ocean, and eventually make it to Dripping Cave (I still haven't seen it drip). It was used by stagecoach robbers (aka Robbers Cave) back when Wells Fargo ran a route through the canyon... There are often deer here too, and hopefully as we get more rain things will start to turn green again and it gets/stays really pretty out here all the way through the spring...

PARKING IS AN ISSUE HERE... ***PLEASE READ THIS*** Only park on Canyon Vistas street (on the hill). If you park on Silkwood St. at the bottom of the hill You WILL BE TOWED... I don't know what it will be like in the afternoon, but it is a bit crowded in the morning, it's usually a short 2-4 minute walk down the hill to the park in the morning...

There are no restrooms on the trail. There is a portable restroom in the park, and dogs are not permitted...

I think that's it... Any questions, please ask... Thanks...
