Introduction to Metal Jewelry

One-Day Workshop: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Fee: $95 members, $149 non-members

For beginners and intermediate students

No experience required.

• Learn how to work with metal to create beautiful jewelry!

Class includes metalsmithing and safety basics, how to fabricate, texture, form, clean, patina and polish your jewelry.

• Designed for beginners and students needing a refresher or more practice, this class introduces students to the fundamentals of metalworking.

Through demonstrations and individualized instruction, you will develop basic skills in sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, and polishing as well as in the safe use of tools and studio chemicals. Students may repeat this class to strengthen and practice their skills and learn more tips and tricks.

• Basic tools and supplies for class are provided.

How to find us: my studio is at the Sandy Spring Museum. The museum is in Sandy Spring, near Olney, about 10-15 minutes from Rockville. It is at the corner of 108 and Bentley - turn at the Valero gas station across from Christopher's Hardware.
