What we're about

This Meetup is for folks interested in the practice of meditation from a Catholic-Christian perspective. Each Meetup will be focused on a different method of meditation, with light guidance, but will be practiced in silence.

The venue will depend upon the needs of members but will typically be at St. Joseph Chapel at the Tracy Center. However, if there are folks interested in other regions please join and let the Meetup organizer know - we can extend the Meetup. Also, there will be retreats (Desert Days) in Clinton, LA.

Types of meditation practiced: Interior Recollection, Traditional Meditation, Jesus Prayer, Interior (Mental) Prayer, Lectio Divina, Ignatian Contemplation, Contemplative Prayer.

This group is organized by Barry Schoedel. Barry is the Associate Director of the Office of Evangelization & Catechesis for the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge. These events are open to all who are interested in Catholic-Christian meditation and there is no litmus test for participation. Come with a desire to, "Be still" and to "Come aside by yourselves to a desert place, and rest."
