If your lifetime reading list includes lots of classic works by Catholic authors, and you enjoy lively but respectful book discussions, then this group is for you. We'll read both fiction and non-fiction works by Catholic authors (or of interest to Catholic readers), with a focus on classic works that tackle spiritual themes. You don't need to be Catholic to join-- everyone is welcome, as long as they treat other group members with kindness and courtesy.
*Update* I'm really sorry to do this, but I need to push this back to March 10. Hopefully some folks will still be able to come! The good news is this gives people two more weeks to read the book :-)
I thought for our second meeting we could tackle a work of fiction. So at the suggestion of one of the attendees of the first meeting, for our next selection we will be reading Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh. First published in 1945, it follows the life and romances of the protagonist Charles Ryder from the 1920s to the 1940s, including his friendship with the Flytes, a family of wealthy English Catholics who live in a palatial mansion called Brideshead Castle.
