Catskill Ukulele Group July 11 and July 18 happenings
Saturday, July 10, 2010 1:18 PM
Please check out the Catskills Ukulele Group meetup.com site for music I just put up on the site. It's some crazy hand-written arrangements done by Joel Eckhaus (for those who don't know about Joel, I'll tell you all about him Sunday or you can Google search him). Fun stuff.
For ANY OF YOU who can attend the Killian Day event on July 18 (2:00 to 6:00)--it's going to be a family-friendly, fun event. Ukers: hip hop ukulele artist Jon Braman will be performing, plus Robert Burke Warren is doing a new ukulele set he's been playing lately. NOT TO BE MISSED music all around. C.U.G. members will play "Woyaya" and "Three Little Birds," hopefully with a few hundred people singing! Those songs can also be found on the C.U.G. meetup.com site under "more" and "files." This event is at Davis Park in West Shokan, NY and is a pot luck. Donations benefit the Killian Mansfield Foundation. There will be some music performance surprises that ukulele folk won't want to miss!
Jim Deville has agreed to move his famous Playing By Ear workshop from Sept. 30 (Thur) to Oct. 1 (Fri) at 6:30 p.m. I'll look for a restaurant to host this one, as it's right at supper time. This'll be $20 a head. It was moved to Friday to make it easier on NYC folk. Sorry, he couldn't do the weekend.
I hope a bunch of you can make it on July 18. Whoever will be there on July 11 (tomorrow), we'll go over those songs again too.
