Join us for a great Fall Foliage Hike and Picnic at Red Top Mountain State Park with Ron Hilston's MeetUp group Outside Atlanta.
We will meet at Red Top Mountain Lodge and take the Sweet Gum and Homestead Trails for an approximate total walking distance of 5½ miles. Overall, this route will take you through forest, across fields, and along the shores of the lake and is of Moderate Difficulty.
Picnic will follow the hike in a picnic area adjacent to the Lodge. Bring a chair, an item to share, and something to grill.

Go 75 North to Exit 285
Go Right off the exit
Proceed approximately .5 miles and go over bridge (Bethany Bridge) over the water
Go approximately another .5 miles and left on to Park Marina Rd
Approximately .5 miles and right on to Lodge Rd

There is no gated entrance to the park. Visitors are required to pay a $5 Per-Vehicle Day Use Fee. Pay this by Cash or Check at the Entry Fee/Entry Booth along Red Top Beach Road or the Visitors Center, which serves as the camping check-in office, a store (drinks, snacks, and souvenirs), and park information center. Once you pay your Day Use Fee, proceed to the Red Top Mountain Lodge.
BRING: Comfortable Shoes, Layered Clothing, Water to Drink, Trail Mix, a Chair, a Food Item to Share, and Something to Grill, $5 per Vehicle
