WE ARE ABOUT HAVING FUN!!
Most of our events are very loosely structured. Event hosts come up with something they enjoy doing and invite others in the group to join them. It's important you have an up-to-date photo posted and close enough to see your face, so others can recognize you when you first cross paths. If you are new, let the event host know, and they may be able to introduce you to a few members.
Always remember you are responsible to introduce yourself to others. You might think everyone else knows each other, but you would be wrong. Make an effort to break out of your comfort zone and try to meet someone you don't know. That is how some great friendships are made and you may be making another person feel welcome.
How do you start participating in the Meetup Group? First you need to join, after that I recommend looking at the calendar of events. Choose ones that look fun or interesting, RSVP, mark it on your calendar, and attend the event. You are on your way. If the first one is not fun, try another one. Each event is different.
Why is it so important to be social? MORE people live alone now than at any other time in history. Also in 2020, Covid has created more isolation. People living alone are far more likely to want and enjoy getting out of the house to find their social interactions. This is exactly what we offer.
Life is a journey so why not make the journey with other like people. Get out of the house, make new friends, go to new places, laugh, dance, and let loose. We are social beings, and this is the place to get social.
