Day trip to Down House: The home of Charles Darwin !

From: Gerard

Dear fellow Humanists
On Sunday 21st of September 2008 we are organising a day out to the home of Charles Darwin, the father of Evolution!

Luckily for us Darwin?s home, Down House, is very near to London and close to many transport links.
This makes organising our trip much easier.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST
Adult: ?7.40
Children: ?3.70
Concession: ?5.90
English Heritage Members: Free
Family Ticket: ?18.50

If enough people RSVP we will also be hiring a private guide to show us around.
This will be a PRIVATE TOUR and should cost no more than ?4 per person!!

Given that this meetup is on a Sunday and that there are so many routes to Down House the plan is to simply arrange to meet at Down House anytime between 1:00 - 1:30pm and allow people to arrange their own transport there.

That said a large number of us will be going on the Victoria - Bromley South route outlined below.

Those that provided me with their contact details will be receiving this as a separate email very soon.

For those that plan to take public transport the following train routes are nearby and have good local bus/taxi support.

The following Meetup.com discussion thread has been created to allow people the chance to discuss and arrange their travel plans together.

http://crosscultural.meetup.com/39/messages/boards/thread/5403066/

It contains a full list of possible travel routes, train times and local taxi numbers!!!!

You can always get in touch with me through the "Contact Organizer" link on Meetup: http://crosscultural.meetup.com/39/suggestion/

Regards
Gerard
