Iconic London – Xmas shopping in Camden Town - the first of a series of visits to some of London’s most iconic and exciting areas.
We start with fashionable Camden Town with an exploration of its amazing massive market where you can find just about anything you can imagine from bric-a-brac bargains to the latest street fashions (and a chance to do some Xmas shopping). Then we will sample bargain basement priced food from the scores of stalls offering every type of international cuisine. You can usually fill yourself up for no more than £4. We will then head off to a nearby pub for some live entertainment and a few drinks.
11am: Meet outside Camden Town tube. Join an escorted tour of the market – or just wander off on your own.
1pm: Meet up at the main market entrance where the roads meet under the railway bridge. Look for us outside Gilgamesh restaurant. We will then go grazing for food.
2pm: We go in search of music or even some live poetry, perhaps washed down with some locally brewed beer at a Camden Town venue.
