PLSC is asking you to participate in a new online course selection database. Any track that have a minimum of thirteen registrants can be offered this year. We hope that with nearly a year of planning and input that your group will take a learning vacation together and strengthen your leadership skills. In the year 2000, a group of dedicated leaders identified a growing need within the Pagan community for networking, community-building, and high quality training in the practical skills necessary to direct and inspire groups and organizations. Putting aside path-specific differences, these leaders called together others who were, like themselves, struggling to meet real-world challenges of administration and management of people, assets, legal concerns, and people. The first Mid-Atlantic Pagan Leadership Conference (then called the "Regional Pagan Leadership Conference) was held in Virginia Beach to begin addressing these needs, and in subsequent years, PLC's held here and in other areas helped to spread the message: Pagans can get organized, and these skills can be taught! Excited and motivated by these conferences, dozens of Pagan leaders went back to their groups with greater confidence, knowledge, and organizational abilities. The outcome was growth, expansion, and an increased ability to focus on the more spiritual and/or mission-oriented goals of those groups. Soon, however, it began to be clear that these forward-thinking leaders wanted to dig more deeply into the topics that caused them the most challenges: practical skills such as non-profit accounting, event coordination, publicity and public relationship, group dynamics, adult learning, conflict resolution, and others. Thus, in 2004, the regional groups came together to assemble the first National Pagan Leadership Skills Conference, to meet this growing need. By listening more and speaking less we can open space and create trust and listen to Spirit. This session presents a call for integrity in what we say, what we mean and how we present our message. As weavers in leadership, we hold accountability for what we create for ourselves and our communities.
