Let's have our first meetup to connect and chat!

  • This location is shown only to members

This is now DEFINITE everyone!  The location is noted above only to members.

Please note: This meetup is following my class "Homemade Probiotics - Fermenting FUNdamentals" which is from 1pm - 3pm at the same location as the meetup.  If you are interested in attending this class, please register asap.  Unfortunately, I cannot offer this class as a free meet-up but I am 100% positive that you will gain so much from the class if you attend!  Seating is limited so register asap:  http://www.simplisticwholistic.com/events/2013/02/homemade-probiotics-fermenting-fundamentals  You can find former students' testimonials here:  http://www.simplisticwholistic.com/workshopclass-testimonials  Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Back to the actual meetup at 4:30pm, I am so excited to meet everyone and connect!  Please come with ideas for future meetups and topics.  Also, please come with an open mind!  Since this group contains those from different backgrounds and different points in our health journeys, some of us are fresh to  traditional food-ways (I was fresh to it at one point!) and some of us are more savvy.

This will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet each other and start connecting about REAL and traditional food. Looking forward to it!

I just talked to Stephanie at boot camp today. She said that all milk is generally unhealthy. Even organic milk has hormones from animals. She also said to avoid lard with frying, but either olive or coconut oil would be fine. I did not ask her about sea salt.

Hi Matt - you will find that everyone has their opinions about nutrition and food. What our group is going to focus on is, traditional food-ways, the way in which are ancestors ate as discovered by Weston A Price. I work with my clients on an individual basis much more intensely on the topics that came up during our meetup. Don't worry, there is a huge learning curve here and you have to trust the right sources. Olive oil should never be used for frying.

I'm so sorry I missed it. I've been sick. Boy, colds and flus are tougher than ever. I wonder what's up with that?!

I really think I will enjoy learning about what food really is or is not healthy, and become less scared of things like saturated fat.

Hi everyone! Looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday at 4:30pm. Please brainstorm on what you'd like to see for future meet-ups/events. Also, it's really important to build this community even bigger - so please reach out to your loved ones, co-workers, friends, etc that would be interested in our group:) They don't have to be REAL foodies...yet! See you then! Also, my contact # is[masked] in case you need to reach me before the event. (I will be unable to answer from about 12:30 to 3:15 due to my class that is happening before the meet-up).
