This area is well known for its smooth, fast riding surfaces composed of red clay, which provides superb handling characteristics when dry. However, it becomes very slick when just a tad too moist. Frequently alternating turns, combined with quick changes in elevation. About 1/8 of the single track is in open, grassy fields for good sun exposure. The rest of it is in the shady woods, which takes considerably longer to dry out following rainfall. No rock, but scattered roots are found in the woods. About ten of the log-overs have no bypasses. Recommended for high beginners (in good shape) through advanced riders.
The distance will be about ? miles total. The pace will be brisk intervals no longer than ? mins, alternated with brief recovery pauses. Riders should be in good enough fitness for moderately high intensity exercise.
Mountain bike and helmet required. Remember to bring water, snack food, tick repellent, spare tube. No portable loud music speakers, please. Parking lot has two porta-johns.
If there are heavy rains here the day before, then this event will likely be canceled. So check this web page for updates before you leave from home. If you know you will be late, please post below, as there will be 4G internet communications at the parking lot to check for latecomers.
