Horse racing at Beulah Park

9/10/2013 update: Let's meet up and shoot photos at the track! Here are the rules: we can shoot anything except for people betting at the windows... no commercial use of the photos... and tripods are allowed. We'll start gathering around 12:30 and figure out where to set up and maybe grab some lunch there. Post time for the race is 1:30pm. Parking and admission are free.

It's been a long time since I've seen thoroughbred racing up close and personal...like Richard, I'm sad that Beulah Park will be closing, and I'm sorry I didn't experience before this. Was very cool being there on Sunday.

I was able to bring a tripod in this past weekend for the balloon shoot without any problem.

Does anyone know if we can get into the barns? Jockey area?

We won't be getting any special treatment, so we shouldn't expect to go anywhere the general public cannot go.

The website lists parking and admission as free. Doesn't have any comments on photography or permissible gear.

I went to the track a few years back and you could get pretty close! Close enough to get some great shots. I don't know about tripods, but I dont think they have a rule. It all seemed pretty lax when I was there. Should be fun!!
