First of all, the earlier you come, the easier it will be to find parking and a good place to sit. Paid parking is usually available in one of the Verizon lots and at Cardinal Health.
There is a fence around the school property, but there are gates on the Emerald Parkway side. At 6 pm, I will be standing by the gate closest to the main Verizon building, the one with the monument style sign. We will hang out for a little bit and wait for people to gather, then go find a place to sit in the stands. You can bring a cushion or blanket to sit on. If you prefer, you can bring lawn chairs and sit in the grassy area. You'll be more comfortable, but you may not see the bands as well.
I'm coordinating two groups tonight, the Central Ohio Photo Group and the Columbus Live Music Meetup Events group. Feel free to bring your camera to shoot photos of the bands, the crowd, and the fireworks. If you sit in the stands with me, you will be hand holding your camera, as a tripod obviously won't work. Out in the grass, it gets crowded, so if you bring one, keep in mind you might have to be flexible as to where you can go to set it up. It's likely I will shoot with my cell phone this time because I want to enjoy the show and the fireworks.
I'm going to try and accommodate those who decide to come at a later time, but it might be tricky. If you come later, feel free to text me at 420-0000 area code 614. If the band is playing, I won't be able to answer a phone call. I will check for texts as often as I can, while trying not to kill my phone battery.
Let me know if you have any questions that I haven't answered.
