I'll be glad to "speak up" - I am neither Republican or Democrat but I am a fiscal conservative and, related, I think there is too much government spending on a variety of social programs. I am also one of those middle age, white men who actually managed to make a living in this screwed up society. So now there is a stereotype against me - I have been told I live a "privileged" life and by definition that I am inherently prejudiced against minorities. Bull. I am an individual- an atheist and a skeptic- and do not like be summarily judged by anyone, black, gay, or female, just because I am part of a particular "demographic group" that they feel is somehow "overrepresented". I'd like to speak up on both #1 and # 4. Good stuff. thanks!!!

Here are some of my ideas - sorry i missed the meeting. - 1. Atheism and Skepticism - are all atheists skeptics? are all skeptics atheists? With so many titles do atheists have to be skeptics or is that implied in the title 'atheist' or 'humanist' or 'anti-theist'?

    2. Atheist Conservatives - do they exist? Republican/Conservative agenda but without religion - how does that work? Does anyone identify as one that cares to speak? Can we find one? http://thehumanist.com/commentary/wait-youre-an-atheist-and-a-conservative

      3. Should there be an 'atheist movement' - or a an 'anti-theist' movement - can't people just join already existing movements and just identify themselves as atheists?
      4. 'Atheist movement' seems to be kind of male, white and relatively well off. Why is that? Is that even true?
      5. Atheist advertising - what is ok and what is counter productive? Billboards have created a bunch of controversy as well as bus ads. Are they a good idea to promote 'non-theist' ideals?

Thanks Alex. My deceased father was a conservative atheist, but not on social issues. Very liberal on social issues which he felt were not the governments business.
