  • Columbus CoR Bleed-N-Feed
Donate blood and go out to dinner with other donors. The Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO) blood donation program has expanded to involve COUNT and other Columbus CoR folks. NOTE: PLEASE SCHEDULE IN ADVANCE VIA CALLING OR ONLINE!!! This location can be VERY busy, and if you don't schedule your donation, you may be turned away. Its time again for the awesome giving of the gift of life. We'll meet on the third Thursday every other month at 5 PM at the Carriage Place Red Cross and after we're all drained we'll refuel at a nearby restaurant. Our default is awesome Mexican food right around the corner at Chile Verde (but we may change it up sometimes). Please call 1-800-Red-Cross [masked]) to schedule your time. We'll just head over to the restaurant once everyone has donated who wishes to. Please post a comment if you want to donate with us but need to do it earlier or another day. And if you want to join for dinner we'll probably (depending on turn out) be headed there around 6 but feel free to comment on this event and we'll know to wait or grab a seat for you once we get there. :) Thank you for being a community that cares and actually does something about it. [If you donate via apheresis on another day or time, please comment with how many units and we will include you in the stats whether you are able to join us for dinner or not,]

  • COUNT Serve Meal at Van Buren Shelter Monthly Group Project
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (http://www.ymcacolumbus.org/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday of each month. No previous experience is needed and there is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. Our group is usually the only one in the lobby so we're not hard to find. We meet there to socialize for a bit before the volunteering starts at around 5:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, [masked], (614)[masked] or Dave Nohle, [masked], (614)[masked] (cell) More information about the Community Shelter Board can be found at http://www.csb.org/about-us/. Please let Dave Nohle know if you do volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that we can count your hours toward our service record.
