Intermediate XC Ski at Edison Sno-Park - Dogs are welcome!

  • to
  • Edison Butte Sno-Park

Rd 45 south of Cascade Lakes Highway, Bend, OR (map)

    44.042599 -121.331627

  • Hoping for some fresh dry snow!

We plan to ski a loop, stopping at the upper shelter for lunch; approx. 6 miles with some elevation and views! It should take at least 4 hours.  Downhill turning skills are required.

Be sure your driver has a sno-park permit displayed.

The parking lot can be very crowded; please bring a leash for your dog until we start on the trail.

This ski requires some fresh snow.  If conditions are poor, we can ski across the road towards Wanoga Sno-Park.

Kathy, the event host will not be in Bend to caravan with the group out to the sno-park.  So she asks that you go directly to Edison Butte Sno-Park to meet the group there.  Any questions, call Kathy (503) 407-8926.

Hi Kathy, I am not sure my skill level is adequate for this event, especially with a dog. My young Bella Blue is sensitive to the cold and my older Alex may not have the stamina for six miles. Thanks for posting though. Maybe next season!

I just met John while checking the conditions at the park. We agreed that there may be just enough snow to ski it on Sat. I'm not canceling, but be wary of spring conditions! We may need to ski around a few lava rocks.

Hope to see you there. You have a better chance of sno shoeing with the hi temps this week.

I really want to ski this trail with my dogs, but going to Seattle on business. If you decide to reschedule, I am available next weekend.
