Worm Composting - Getting Started

Presented by: Michael Richner (Reschedule from 3/13 to 3/24)

Why Compost?

Recycling household organic waste into compost allows us to return organic matter to the soil. In this way, we participate in nature's cycle, and reduce garbage going into landfills.

Why Compost With Worms?

Worm composting is a method for recycling food waste into a rich soil enhancer. This can be done indoors and/or outdoors, allowing year round composting. It also provides apartment dwellers with a means of composting. Worm compost is made in a container filled with moistened bedding and redworms. Add your food waste, and allow the worms and micro-organisms to convert the entire contents into rich compost.

Join us on Sunday, March 24th from 2-4pm to learn how to get started with your personal worm composting.

A $3 donation is requested at the door.

Doors open at 1:45pm.

There will plenty of time for questions and answers.

This will be an interactive demonstration (worms and dirt are involved).

Mike really knew his stuff! I definitely will take composting more seriously with my kitchen garden. We couldn't ask enough questions! I hope Mike will give this presentation another time. It's not to be missed!
