• You Are Blessed @ Your Interactive Spiritual Community

    Cook Street Village Activity Centre

This weekend is Thanksgiving. The collective energy calls us to count our blessings and be grateful for the life we are living. With that in mind, I share Pierre Pradervand's beautiful "Blessing for the Fullness of This Day." I bless this day in the fullness of good it already contains, in the many occasions it offers to listen deeply, to be of service to others, to express gratitude moment by moment. I bless this day in the infinite opportunities it gives me to love: to love and bless every human I meet, every beast or bird I pass by, every plant I behold, for all are but the many expressions of the infinite Life. Truly, I bless this day for the wonderful adventure it can become as I walk through it with the eyes of wonder rather than boredom, use every opportunity to express peace rather than irritation, and chose love over fear. Thank you, Life, for this day. Join Rev Annie this Sunday for her message entitled, "I Am Blessed" ************************************************ We are your interactive spiritual community. • Deeper into the 3rd Eye @ Your Interactive Spiritual Community

    Cook Street Village Activity Centre

We've travelled through five of our energy centres and have entered the sixth, the Third Eye. This is the chakra of wisdom and the power of the Mind. Some of the biggest challenges revolve around opening the mind. Here we are asked to re-evaluate beliefs and attitudes. We're expanding our vision beyond the details of what's happening in our lives to see the truth that lies beyond it. And we're reclaiming our power from false ideas or truths we may be holding. The are a few other challenges we face inside of this chakra as well. We are learning to trust and act on our own internal direction. And, we're learning to distinguish between thoughts that are motivated by strength and those that are motivated by fear or illusion. Our theme for 2019 is Living Our Spiritual Power. And this journey through the human energy system, the chakras, is certainly leading us deep into doing just that - living our spiritual power. Each day is a new beginning. Our task for today is to learn the practice of consciously entering our body and our day. As you think about your day, where do you need to be and with whom do you need to be? Do you feel stressful about the day or do you feel comfortable? Do you feel prepared for the events of your day? Are there any fears or expectations that you're projecting into the day? Breathe. Be aware. It's amazing how much we can shift simply by bringing our attention and awareness to what is happening within us. Now... Focus your attention upwards to your mind - the world behind your eyes. Go beyond the limits of the rational mind and accept the Divine's Plan. Prepare your mind to enter the day feeling good rather than creating illusions, false truths or fears. For today, release old grudges, beliefs, attitudes and patterns that no longer serve you. Remember that everything in your life is there for a reason and to teach you truth. As a result of our energy commitments, we - our minds, hearts and lives - become woven into their consequences. Our faith and our power of choice are, in fact, the power of creation itself. We are the vessels through which energy becomes matter in this life. Therefore, the spiritual test inherent in all our lives is the challenge to discover what motivates us to make the choices we do, and whether we have faith in our fears or the Divine." Thinking of where we put our faith, here are two reflection questions: Are you able to sense when you are receiving guidance to act upon? and Do you trust guidance that has no "proof" of the outcome attached to it? I recently watched a video where Caroline talks about the many dimensions of the 5th chakra. In it she helps us better understand how the power of our will (our choices) relates to the other chakras and shows up in our lives. Cook Street Village Activity Centre

We have entered the arena of the Fifth Chakra. Many of us have likely associated this energy centre with expression and communication. And while that is definitely part of it, the power and truth of this chakra go much deeper. The Throat Chakra is also about the Power of Will. Specifically, we face the challenge of surrendering our personal will to that of the divine. Caroline expresses the depth of the Throat Chakra this way, The symbolic challenge of the willpower chakra is to progress through the maturation of will: from the tribal perception that everyone and everything has authority over you; through the perception that you alone have authority over you; to the final perception, that true authority comes from aligning yourself to Spirit's will. This is something human beings can find very difficult but as Caroline points out, "this surrender is the greatest act we can perform to bring spiritual stability into our lives." • 5th Chakra @ Your Interactive Spiritual Community

    Cook Street Village Activity Centre

We have reached the fifth chakra, which is located in the throat - thus the name Throat Chakra. This energy centre is all about communication, both verbal and non-verbal. And while we often think about it terms of talking to others, it includes our internal communication as well. Authentic expression does not always come easily. We must balance knowing our own truth, speaking it clearly, yet being tactful or compassionate as well. To be open and aligned in this chakra is to speak, listen, and express yourself from a higher realm of communication. If your throat chakra is in balance, you will be creative, helpful, and able to ask for help when you need it. You'll be able to express yourself in healthy, honest and loving ways. With a balanced and open Fifth Chakra, not only can you communicate your ideas, beliefs, and emotions...you are able to bring your personal truth out into the world. • An Empowered Heart @ Your Interactive Spiritual Community

    Cook Street Village Activity Centre

This week we are completing the six steps of healing as well as the exploration of the Heart Chakra. Caroline Myss offers questions for self-examination that are directly related to this chakra. Here are a few that may be helpful in your exploration: What emotional memories do you still need to heal? What relationships in your life require healing? What is your understanding of forgiveness? Who are the people you have yet to forgive, and what prevents you from letting go of the pain associated with them? What have you done that needs forgiving? Which people are working to forgive you? What is your idea of a healthy, intimate relationship? Are you willing to release the use of your wounds in order to open yourself to such a relationship? There's much to look at here but freeing yourself from the pain of your past is worth the time and effort because as Caroline says, everything in and about your life runs off the fuel of your heart. We are on a path to the empowered heart! And we're diving into the six steps Caroline Myss offers for healing. Here are the first three steps from last week: Step One: Commit to healing all the way to the source of the pain. This means turning inward and coming to know your wounds. You make a choice to focus your attention on your learning, your growth and your healing. Step Two: Once 'inside' yourself, identify your wounds. As you identify them, talk to someone you can trust who can be a witness for you. Share the influence they've had on your development. Take a look at why you might feel afraid of healing them. Step Three: Observe how you use your wounds to influence or even control people in your life, including yourself. Here are a few of the questions she offers for exploration. Not all questions may apply to you but the ones that do can really help in the process. Do you ever say you aren't feeling well because of them to cancel an appointment/plans when you actually feel fine? Do you every control another person by saying their actions remind you of your parents? Are you afraid that in healing yourself you'll lose your connection to certain people or that you'll have to leave behind some or a lot of you familiar life? This is a deep and powerful process that can transform your life. And this week we are carrying on to the next steps. I wonder what we'll discover! We come into the world as infants and go through the stages of childhood, teen years and young adulthood, eventually becoming adults. There isn't anything we have to do to go through the stages, nature takes care of it for us. As spiritual beings, we're in a similar process; we go through various stages eventually growing into spiritual adulthood. That is our spiritual journey, isn't it...maturing into our true spiritual Self. But in this case we have to be actively engaged in the process. It doesn't just "happen" because we age. The fourth chakra is our gateway in this development. It's where we turn to learn the deepest aspects of ourselves: your hurts & pains, what you like, what you love, your strengths & weaknesses, why you do what you do, what makes you need attention or approval from others, what you need for balance. Caroline Myss tells us that we need to go into the Heart Chakra and learn its lessons in order to heal our wounds and move on to spiritual adulthood. There are many ways to this but we're going to take a closer look at the steps she shows us. This process is vital because as Caroline says, "The only path toward spiritual consciousness is through the heart."
