At its core, Business Architecture is a discipline for delivering capability-based planning.
The overall aim of the Business Architect role is to bridge the gap between strategy and execution by understanding the capabilities that the business needs to deliver value to its customers, the capabilities it currently has, and what actions are required to close any gaps between the two.
When we understand these gaps we can start making informed decisions about our investments (eg, projects) and organisational structure.
