Calling all ladies looking for new challenges in your life, or a way to achieve the goals you have already set. Let's get together and help motivate and challenge each other. We will be meeting in some interesting places in and around Sarasota on our journey and hopefully have a lot of fun!
How many of your New Year’s resolutions have died a slow or fast death? Do you sometimes feel in a bit of a rut with your daily routines? Do you ever wish you could be/have/do ‘fill in the blank’, but, struggle with the steps to get there?
“I’ve got the key to my castle in the air, but whether I can unlock the door remains to be seen.” – Louisa May Alcott
Do you find it easier to make positive lifestyle changes when you have distinct challenges/goals and motivation? I think most of us do. So, this is a group about creating and setting achievable challenges and working together to help everyone succeed.
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller
Be prepared to not only set but give and receive challenges as well, especially as we learn about each other, and what everyone’s goals as well as strengths and weaknesses are. Through the group, we will help one another work towards the challenges you set for yourself, but, you also might find yourself straying from your comfort zone by, for example, taking a meditation course, trying new foods, talking to a friendly stranger, attending a cooking class, begin a journal, start a new exercise routine or de-clutter that back closet.
“The key to life is accepting challenges. Once someone stops doing this, he’s dead.” – Bette Davis
I’m going to start out with a set day and time to get together so we can give and receive challenges as well as cheer on those completing their own challenges. Hopefully we will grow though, and when that happens, I hope to have people to help assist with organizing a variety of days and times to meet up so everyone has options.
“If you aren’t in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?” – T.S. Eliot
Why ladies only? I thought about this for a while and decided that while I think men are great, sometimes women feel more comfortable with sharing things without guys around, especially if we end up with only a small minority of gentlemen. So, for now, I’m keeping it to ladies, a topic to reconsider in the future maybe.
“Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others.” – Amelia Earhart
Lastly, just a note about no-shows. Please don’t do it. It’s easy to change an RSVP. I am fine with last minute changes, as I'm guilty of that myself and life does get in the way, but, I will only give a pass for 1 no-show before removing you from the group after the next instance.
