Winooski River Up the river or out to the Lake

Week night paddle protocol Launch time 6:00pm

The CKC sponsors weekly informal paddles open to all members or future members regardless of skill level. We request that all paddlers arrive on time, dressed appropriately for water temperature and with all required gear, ready to launch at 6:00 pm. There are no formal trip leaders but we do recommend that the group discuss the trip expectations prior to launch to ensure that everyone is on board with a trip plan. Please give yourself 20-30 minutes to get ready to go.

Required equipment: Pfd's, kayak, paddle, head lamp, kayak flotation (bulk heads or floats), spray skirts (conditions may change, questions please ask)
Recommended equipment: pump, drinking water, snacks, sun screen, hat, and extra clothing

Please post to the forum that you are coming. Some people do not drive up for the paddle if no one posts that they are going paddling. PLEASE LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT YOU ARE PADDLING.

It would be great if someone would post after the paddle on how many people made it to paddle that night.

You can locate launch locations by going to our Goggle map the link is located on the left-hand side of the Meet-Up page. Look for the Google Icon.

Neil, you asked me to do a practice rescue. Don't make it sound like you were in the water and in trouble. I declined which is my right. There were many other able bodied paddlers closer to you who you could have asked

Good paddle, nice weather, a bit of wind. Great job by Ed and Neil doing some rolls out in deep water.

I would love to join this meet up but I'm completely new to this and I don't know how it works. I am also new to Vermont and new to kayaking. I just learned how to last week but want to keep it up. Can anyone help? :)
