Tuesday evenings: (maybe extended if there is interest. If the weather is bad on a Tuesday will try to move to another night that works with others folks who sign up also will do this every Tuesday in July. If it doesn’t work will cancel for that week.) Thanks

Location: VT Fish & Game Access Area, Windemere Way, Colchester, VT

Why this location? Offers free parking; is central to the Burlington area; only a short paddle out to the lake where there is warm, clear, shallow water to practice basic kayaking skills and good surfing on a west or northwest wind.

Required equipment: Kayak of any type, paddle and PFD (which must be worn, not stowed), water or sports drink

Recommended equipment: Paddle float and pump, tow belt, nose plugs, goggles or dive mask

Note: This is not a paddle! We’ll head out into the lake just to the south of the mouth of the river and work on skills.

Skills we will work on: bracing, edging, multiple different strokes, self and assisted rescues, rolling, towing, rough water boat handling and surfing.
