This is a group for artists, poets, and writers, who are interested in creating a community where all can plug into the power of artistic expression in a safe and supportive environment. We meet in Chandler, AZ for weekly and monthly poetry workshops and a monthly poetry Open Mic event.

• About Us
We are writers meeting each week to share our work and to get inspired. We alternate leadership from week to week, each of us bringing different topics, poetry forms and approaches into the mix, stimulating ongoing discussions. We want to write MORE poems, better poems, and get those poems on the stage and into publications.

• What we'll do
Al will host this week's session on the poetry of American Poet, William Stafford (1914 - 1993). Stafford was a pacifist, known for his independence from literary and social expectations. We will read and discuss some poems before writing from prompts. Poets can share what they come up with. Time permitting, participants can share a recent poem or other writing with the group.

• What to bring – Pen and paper or device for the writing exercise.

• Important to know – We provide a supportive community for poets of all styles and skill levels.

Al will host this week's special session: Share and Inspire. Every 4th Tuesday, we invite participants to bring a recent (or not so recent) poem or other short writing to share with the group, any topic or style. Our sharing may serve as a basis for some impromptu writing (time permitting). This is an opportunity to support and be supported by other writers. Bring something you wrote or something you love by another author, something to inspire.

Throughout his career, Ferlinghetti consistently challenged the status quo, asserting that art should be accessible to all people, not just a handful of highly educated intellectuals. We will read and discuss some of his poems before writing from prompts. Poets can share what they come up with. Time permitting, participants can share a recent poem or other writing with the group.
