What we're about

Charles River Wheelers (CRW) is a group of recreational cyclists who get together for weekly bicycle rides and frequent social events in the Boston area.

We provide a high quality year round recreational ride program with a friendly social atmosphere. Our rides are open to the general public. If you like our rides and continue to ride with us, we ask you to please become a member. Membership dues help support the CRW Ride Program. As a member you will receive a discounted rate on all centuries as well as discounts at participating bike shops, which can more than pay for your membership. You can also participate in events open only to members, become a ride leader, volunteer to help run the club or join the board of directors and help develop and shape the future of the club.

Women-Only Flat Tire Repair Workshop

Ride Headquarters

This event is full. We have limited capacity and cannot accept walk-ins. ------------------------------------------------------------ Women-Only Flat Tire Repair Workshop March 24, 2019 Times 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Leader(s): Mary Kernan ([masked]) Description: Ladies, it's time You know this is long overdue and you've been putting it off. This sometimes keeps you off your bike and you're embarrassed to admit you don't know what you're doing even if many others around you don't know either. Well, this is your chance. CRW is teaming up with Ride Headquarters to run a Women's Only Flat Tire Repair Workshop. Only ladies in the room and a seriously impressive female instructor. Practical Experience You're gonna bring a wheel from your bike and yes, you can bring just the front wheel because we know touching the back wheel scares the bejesus out of you. By the end of this workshop, you will have successfully changed a tube on your front wheel and beaten up on someone else's bike practicing taking a rear wheel off and putting it back on. We'll even provide rubber gloves if you don't want to get your hands dirty. Just Us Girls Better still, you'll be joined by a group of supportive women all who are just like you and know they need to learn how to change a flat. We'll even provide beer, wine and refreshments to set the appropriate atmosphere. Think of it like one of those paint-a-pot parties, only with a much cooler activity. March is the cruelest of months and it's dreary outside and this is the perfect opportunity for an afternoon out with the girls. Don't miss your chance. Space is Limited Space is limited and this event will sell out. The cost is $15 and you'll leave with a set of tire irons and a spare tube. Do the math and you know you'll come out ahead.
