Paddle beautiful Quenby Ceek and Picnic at Pompion Chapel

  • Mar 22, 2014 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

We will enjoy a spring morning on Quenby Creek and paddle to the historic Pompion Chapel on the Cooper River. We will paddle back in time as we explore the rice fields and the river before arriving at the 17th Century Chapel of Ease. Pack your picnic lunch and watch wildlife from the bluff above the river. The event is free with your own kayak or just $25 for your rental. Call[masked] to reserve your kayak.

All rentals will be charged the day before after 12 noon (Friday).   We will give rain checks if inclement weather arises.

Great trip! I met some awesome ladies today! For the lady (sorry, I didn't get your name) that took my pic in the kayak in front of the churvh, I gave you the wrong email. The correct email is:.[masked]. Thanks! Look forward to another trip!

I am not sure how to get here. Mapquest does not show the boat landing. Suggestions?

    March 21, 2014

    • Dolores

You should be able to find where Cainhoy Road meets hwy 41. Tun on to Cainhoy, cross the railroad tracks, and the landing is on the right.

Wendy, Call me and I can take you there or follow directions on this meet up site. Thanks, Kathie [masked]-3222. Near the intersections of Hwy. 402 and Hwy. 41.

How long do you anticipate the trip taking? Would love to go, but need to be back in town for the Charleston Battery soccer game at 7pm.

      March 16, 2014

    • Marty I.

I got an Ascend D10 - drove to Myrtle Beach to Bass Pro to get it (can't wait for the Charleston store coming Spring 2015) that was a long trip (93 miles from where we live) it's reviews were fab and I read about 15+ (men and women) I have searched for a yr and this may not be everyone's choice but it is mine. Thanks for asking - see you girls later!

Hey, Girls, I did my dry run to Quenby Creek/Ralph Hamer Sr landing today - it is not hard to find at all. Go to Nature Adventures website and click Quenby Creek and it will give you directions (I like those better than the map thing). See ya there!

    March 8, 2014

This is a maybe as my husband will be out of town and will have the Jeep which transports my kayak...hate to rent one when I own 3.

  • Cori

What time do you expect this to be finished by?

    March 4, 2014

    • Elizabeth A.

Hi Cori. It's a 3 hour round trip plus a little r&r at the chapel for lunch and looking around. I would plan on returning to the landing by 2pm.

Looking forward to it! I am coming from the Summerville area, about how much time should I give myself to get there? I have never been out that way before!

    February 26, 2014

    • Elizabeth A.

Hi Eran. I would check mapquest, but you would either have to go to Moncks Corner and then take 402 to 41 in Huger or go 26 to 526 to Clements Ferry to Cainhoy Road. I think it would depend on where you live.

      March 4, 2014

  • Cori

I will need a kayak. Do I need to call or can I reserve one here? Also, do you know when we will finish?

    February 27, 2014

    • Elizabeth A.

Hi Cori, Thanks for the reply. Call[masked] to reserve your kayak.
